Full text reviewed (reviewer-supplied PDF). Revised stratigraphy of the Proterozoic Kirana Complex (Sargodha-Chiniot, Punjab). Latest scheme (Table 4): Hachi Volcanic Group (Wad Sayyidan + Buland Hill formations), unconformably overlain by the Machh Super Group = Kirana Group (Chak 112 Conglomerate, Taguwali, Asianwala) + Sharaban Group (Hadda Quartzite, Chak 102 Conglomerate); the whole complex is unconformably overlain by the Salt Range Formation. The Chak 102 Conglomerate is the former 'Sharaban Conglomerate'.
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

- Lithology: Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman (2022): the Asianwala Formation (Asianwala Quartzite) is light-grey to dirty-white, mottled-brown, medium- to coarse-grained quartzite with conglomerates of slate; recorded thickness ~248 m. It is the uppermost unit of the Kirana Group (Machh Super Group).

- Name: Renamed from 'Sharaban Formation/Conglomerate' to the Chak 102 Conglomerate, the upper formation of the Sharaban Group in the revised Kirana Complex scheme of Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman (2022, Table 4). It overlies the Hadda Quartzite. Old names retained as synonyms.

- Member units: Revised Kirana Complex scheme (Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman 2022, Table 4): the Hachi Volcanic Group comprises the Buland Hill Formation over the Wad Sayyidan Formation.

- Lithology: Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman (2022): the Hadda Quartzite is dull rusty-brown, fine-grained and calcareous, with minor conglomerate beds, interpreted as shallow-marine to deltaic. In their revised scheme it is the lower unit of the Sharaban Group (Machh Super Group), overlain by the Chak 102 Conglomerate.

- Member units: Revised Kirana Complex scheme (Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman 2022, Table 4): the Kirana Group comprises (top to bottom) the Asianwala Formation, Taguwali Formation and Chak 112 Conglomerates.

- Geological significance: Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman (2022) revise the Proterozoic Kirana Complex (Sargodha-Chiniot area) into a lower Hachi Volcanic Group (Wad Syyidan and Buland Hill formations) and an overlying Machh Super Group, the latter comprising the Kirana Group (Chak 112 Conglomerate, Tuguwali Formation, Asianwala Formation) and the Sharaban Group (Hadda Quartzite, Chak 102 Conglomerate). The whole sequence is unconformably overlain by the Late Proterozoic-Cambrian Salt Range Formation.

- Member units: Revised Kirana Complex scheme (Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman 2022, Table 4): the Sharaban Group (upper Machh Super Group) comprises the Chak 102 Conglomerate over the Hadda Quartzite.

- Lithology: Chaudhry, Ahsan & Rehman (2022): the Tuguwali Formation (Tuguwali Phyllite) is light-grey phyllite with minor conglomerates of quartzite; its lower part is fine-grained with cross-bedded quartzite. Recorded thickness ~1190 m. It is the middle unit of the Kirana Group (Machh Super Group), between the Chak 112 Conglomerate below and the Asianwala Formation above.
