A thin Middle Jurassic (Upper Bathonian–Lower Callovian) unit of interbedded grey limestone and dark shale, less than 30 m thick in its Mazar Drik (Marri hills) type area, resting transitionally on the Chiltan Limestone (Kadri, 1995). Its upper part carries an early Callovian fauna. Shah (2009) treats the interval as a member of the Takatu Limestone.

Contacts
Band colour = period; texture = dominant rock type. Lines between bands mark the contact type; dotted = no contact recorded in the sources (not a claim of conformity). True scale makes height ∝ recorded thickness; hatched = thickness not recorded. Ages approximate, for ordering.

Age & correlation (1)

Kazmi & Jan (1997): the Mazar Drik Formation (Callovian to Late Bathonian; type Mazar Drik, Marri Hills) is ~30 m of interbedded grey limestone and dark shale, conformable on the Takatu Limestone and disconformably overlain by the Sembar Formation; a rich Middle-Jurassic ammonite fauna (Macrocephalites, Indocephalites, Bullatimorphites bullatus).
