Verified via retrieved content: evolution of the Permian marine carbonate platform of the Salt Range spanning the Amb, Wargal and Chhidru formations (Zaluch Group). Used for Wargal Limestone (and corroborating Amb, Chidru/Chhidru) carbonate-platform environment.
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

- Age: Corrected from "Early Permian (Sakmarian-Artinskian)" (epoch "Cisuralian") to Middle Permian (Wordian, Guadalupian). Both full-text sources assign a Wordian age to the Amb Formation (Mertmann 2003: "A Wordian age is assigned to the Amb Formation"; Wadood et al. 2022). The prior Cisuralian assignment conflated it with the underlying Nilawahan Group.
- Lower contact (overlies): Amb Formation overlies the Sardhai Formation (with a thin basal sandstone) at the base of the Zaluch Group (Mertmann 2003).

- Age: Refined from "Middle Permian (Wordian-Capitanian)" to Capitanian–Wuchiapingian: the lower Wargal is Capitanian and the upper part Wuchiapingian, extending into the Lopingian (Late Permian) with coral patch reefs and echinodermal-debris bars (Mertmann 2003).
