- Age: Yaseen et al. (2019) and Waliullah et al. (GSP): in the Pishin–Katawaz succession the Nisai Formation is Eocene — a shallow-marine fossiliferous limestone (with shale) that unconformably overlies the Muslim Bagh–Zhob ophiolite at the base of the basin fill, and is in turn overlain by the Oligocene–Early Miocene Khojak Formation. Clarifies the local Eocene age and the basal-ophiolite relationship (an alternative to the curated 'overlies Humai Formation').
