FULL TEXT REVIEWED (reviewer-supplied scan, OCR'd). Classic synthesis of the central Karakoram, divided into (i) the Karakoram metamorphic complex, (ii) the Karakoram batholith and (iii) the northern Karakoram sedimentary terrane, separated from the accreted Kohistan-Ladakh terranes by the Main Karakoram Thrust. Recognises Jurassic and mid-Upper Cretaceous Andean-type subduction-related magmatic episodes (pre-collisional; India-Asia collision ~50-45 Ma), with an early low-pressure metamorphism (M1) and Cretaceous accretion of Kohistan-Ladakh along the Shyok Suture Zone. DOI to confirm (Royal Society).
