Sixteen microfacies across the Triassic Wulgai Formation, Jurassic Loralai Formation and Jurassic Chiltan Limestone of the Sulaiman Fold-Thrust Belt (17 sections, Quetta to Zhob). Triassic Wulgai = deep-marine radiolarian calcisiltite/radiolarite below the CCD shallowing to upper slope (packstone, calcisiltite, lithoclastic rudstone); Chiltan = pelagic calcisphere wackestone (lower slope) up to ooidal grainstone (agitated inner shelf); reservoir porosity enhanced by fracturing, dolomitization and de-dolomitization; deposition/diagenesis controlled by sea-level change and passive-margin tectonics.
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

- Depositional environment: Razzaq Manan et al. (2024): the Chiltan Limestone spans deep-marine, lower-slope pelagic calcisphere wackestone/packstone (SMF-3) up to high-energy ooidal grainstone and peloidal packstone of the agitated inner shelf (SMF-15/16) — a shallowing carbonate ramp. Fracturing, dolomitization and de-dolomitization have locally enhanced secondary porosity, giving reservoir potential in this frontier petroleum belt.

- Economic importance: Razzaq Manan et al. (2024): the Jurassic Loralai Limestone, together with the Chiltan Limestone, is part of the frontier Triassic–Jurassic carbonate petroleum play of the Sulaiman Fold-Thrust Belt; several fracturing phases and mesogenetic (burial) alteration have enhanced effective secondary porosity, improving reservoir quality.

- Economic importance
- Depositional environment: Razzaq Manan et al. (2024): the Wulgai Formation is the oldest (Triassic) succession of the Sulaiman Fold-Thrust Belt, with three microfacies — radiolaria-bearing packstone, arenaceous calcisiltite and lithoclastic rudstone — recording a shallowing-upward passage from deep-marine (below the CCD) through lower-slope turbidites to upper-slope, high-energy conditions. Radiolarite-dominated deposition marks the near-cessation of carbonate sedimentation during the deeper Triassic before the shallower Jurassic carbonates.
