U-Pb detrital-zircon geochronology and provenance of the Late Neoproterozoic-Early Palaeozoic succession of the Hazara foothills (Western Himalaya): Hazara, Tanawal, Tanaki Boulder Bed, Abbottabad (Kakul/Sirban), Galdanian, Misri Banda Quartzite; three structural blocks (syntaxial, Abbottabad, Sherwan). Maximum depositional age of the Hazara Fm ~754 Ma (youngest zircon, sample 2015A2); Tanaki conglomeratic bed (sample 2015A3) zircons cluster ~750-950 Ma (peak ~830 Ma), Precambrian. NOTE: the paper's 'Sherwan block' is a structural domain of Tanawal-equivalent quartzites, NOT the Carboniferous Sherwan Formation of the dataset.
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

- Age: Qasim et al. (2018): the youngest detrital zircon in the Hazara Formation (sample 2015A2) gives a maximum depositional age of ~754 ± 10 Ma, consistent with the older Rb-Sr estimates (765 ± 20, 950 ± 20 Ma; Crawford & Davies 1975) and constraining deposition to the Neoproterozoic (deep-marine turbidites with Bouma divisions). A modern U-Pb refinement of the Hazara age.

- Age: Qasim et al. (2018): U-Pb detrital-zircon dating of the Tanaki conglomeratic bed (sample 2015A3) yields grains clustering ~750-950 Ma with an age peak at ~830 Ma, confirming a Precambrian (Neoproterozoic) age; the matrix-supported, lithic-rich bed marks the angular unconformity between the underlying Hazara/Tanawal succession and the Cambrian Abbottabad Formation. Independent corroboration of the Late Neoproterozoic assignment — lifts the unit to two sources.
