Two-wedge slope-stability analysis of the cyclic sandstone–claystone/siltstone succession of the Dhok Pathan Formation at Pir Pehai, near the Kalabagh Dam site. Tectonic bedding shears in the claystone/siltstone beds are the controlling failure surfaces; a 38° cut slope (F.S. 1.57–1.95) is recommended for stable permanent engineering cuts.

- Economic importance: Engineering geology at Pir Pehai, District Mianwali, near the Kalabagh Dam site (Naeem & Farooq, 2006): the cyclic sandstone–claystone/siltstone succession contains tectonic bedding shears in the fine beds that act as failure surfaces; two-wedge analysis recommends a 38° cut slope (factor of safety 1.57–1.95) for stable permanent excavations.
