USGS summary stratigraphy/structure of the Quetta-Muslim Bagh-Sibi region, Balochistan. Notes: the Muslim Bagh Ophiolite Complex (Late Cretaceous) with the Bagh Ophiolite Complex (Late Cretaceous to Late Triassic) and dolerite dikes; the Upper Cretaceous Bibai Formation (divided into upper and lower zones); the lower-Eocene Ghazij Formation (>1,600 m, predominantly siliciclastic marine shelf, conformably overlain by middle Eocene); the lower-middle Eocene Kirthar Formation; the Eocene-lower Oligocene Nisai Formation; and the Parh Group (Parh Limestone, Mughal Kot Formation).
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

-
- Geological significance: Maldonado et al. (2011, USGS): the Upper Cretaceous Bibai Formation of the Quetta-Muslim Bagh-Sibi region is mapped as divided into an upper and a lower zone.
-
- Lithology: Maldonado et al. (2011, USGS): in the Quetta-Muslim Bagh-Sibi region the lower-Eocene Ghazij Formation is >1,600 m thick and predominantly a siliciclastic marine-shelf succession, conformably overlain by middle-Eocene strata as the area returned to marine-shelf conditions.
-
- Geological significance: Maldonado et al. (2011, USGS): the Muslim Bagh Ophiolite Complex (Late Cretaceous), together with the associated Bagh Ophiolite Complex (Late Cretaceous to Late Triassic) and Late Cretaceous dolerite dikes, is a central element of the plate-convergence assemblage of the Quetta-Muslim Bagh-Sibi region.
-
- Age: Maldonado et al. (2011, USGS) map the Nisai Formation as Eocene to lower Oligocene in the Quetta-Muslim Bagh-Sibi region, consistent with the curated Eocene-Oligocene age.
