Petrography and provenance of the Neogene fluvial succession of the Pishin Belt (Katawaz Basin): Miocene Dasht Murgha Group (lithic arenite, Qt61F11L28) and Pliocene Malthanai Formation (lithic arenite, Qt60F4L36, sedimentary-lithic rich Lm14Lv10Ls76). Recycled-orogen provenance; conglomerate clasts and modal data indicate the Eocene Nisai and Oligocene Khojak formations plus the Muslim Bagh-Zhob Ophiolite and Cretaceous arc as source terrains.
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

- Lithology: Kasi et al. (2017): sandstones of the Miocene Dasht Murgha Group are lithic arenites (modal Qt61F11L28) dominated by quartz with abundant lithic fragments and minor feldspar; QtFL/QmFLt provenance plots and conglomerate-clast composition indicate a recycled-orogen source, chiefly the Eocene Nisai and Oligocene Khojak formations of the Pishin Belt, with contributions from the Muslim Bagh-Zhob Ophiolite and the Cretaceous arc.

- Lithology: Kasi et al. (2017): the Pliocene Malthanai Formation is a lithic arenite (modal Qt60F4L36), comparatively richer in lithic fragments and poorer in feldspar than the underlying Dasht Murgha Group, with sedimentary lithics dominant (Lm14Lv10Ls76) — reflecting widespread reworking of older sedimentary rocks (Nisai, Khojak) during Malthanai times in the recycled-orogen Pishin foreland.
