NEW. Geochemistry and Cl isotopes of the Eocene Kohat rock salts (Bahadur Khel, Jatta and Karak deposits = Kohat Saline Series). Used for Bahadur Khel Salt and Jatta Gypsum: halite-dominated evaporites with subordinate gypsum/anhydrite/polyhalite, restricted-marine to sabkha origin following India-Asia collision and Tethys closure (~50 Ma), subsurface thickness up to ~700 m.
