A 1:500,000 compilation of the NW Pakistan-SE Afghanistan border region (Kurram, North & South Waziristan, Spinghar/Safed Koh; 31-34N, 69-71E). Proposes six new units with type sections in the Spinghar and South Waziristan: Daradar Dolomite (Siluro-Devonian), Spinghar Quartzite (Siluro-Devonian), Sikaram Series (Siluro-Devonian to Triassic), Makai Limestone (Cretaceous), Wana Schist (Palaeozoic) and Kaniguram Slate (Triassic). Also covers the Kabul-Altimur and Zhob-Waziristan-Khost ophiolites, the Katawaz Basin fill, and southward thrusting of the Spinghar crystalline basement (Spinghar nappe) over the Miocene Murree Formation.
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.
