Full text reviewed (reviewer-supplied extract). Quartz, quartz-ilmenite and quartz-kyanite veins in the Mansehra-Batgram area. Simple quartz veins (98-99% quartz; a Chitta Batta en-echelon dyke 34 ft wide, 1 mi long) occur in the Mansehra granite, Susalgali gneiss and Hakle granite; quartz-ilmenite and quartz-kyanite veins are confined to the Barrovian kyanite-grade schists (kyanite blades 3-6 cm, locally to 15 cm, after andalusite/chiastolite). Interpreted as products of hydrothermal solutions and metamorphic differentiation.
