New 1:50,000 geological map of the central Kohistan Arc (Northern Swat-Kalam). Summarises the arc's N-to-S tectonostratigraphy: Yasin Group (Albian-Aptian fossils) over Chalt Volcanic Group (Jurassic-Cretaceous basaltic-rhyolitic volcanics/tuffs/pyroclastics), Jaglot Group (back-arc: Thelichi, Gilgit, Gashu formations), Kohistan Batholith, Chilas Complex, Kamila Amphibolites (amphibolite-facies metagabbros/metadiorites/metatonalites/metavolcanics + minor metasediments) and the Jijal-Sapat mafic-ultramafic complexes; Eocene Dir-Kalam (Utror) volcanics extend through Kalam, Utror and Dir to the Afghan border (max width 4-5 km near Utror).
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

- Lithology: Ahmad et al. (2025): the Eocene Dir-Kalam (Utror) volcanics of the Dir Group extend westward through northern Kalam, Utror, eastern and central Dir and the Barawal Valley to the Afghan border, reaching a maximum width of 4-5 km near Utror and, near Bhan to the east, becoming interbedded with slates. Post-suturing arc volcanism mapped at 1:50,000.

- Lithology: Ahmad et al. (2025), from new 1:50,000 mapping of central Kohistan, describe the Kamila Amphibolite Belt as amphibolite-facies metagabbros, metadiorites, metatonalites and metavolcanics with minor metasediments (after Jan 1979b, 1988; Treloar et al. 1990), forming the southern part of the arc between the Chilas Complex and the Jijal-Sapat complexes.
